Wellness starts from within.   A healthy body and sound mind are at the core of human vitality:

Eating right, exercising, getting adequate sleep, eliminating stress, and practicing mindfulness add up to longevity and enhanced happiness.  Healthy triggers have a huge impact on your physical self, its true organised considered spaces help to combat anxiety and depression and promote overall health.

Our homes can be a destination for healing after a crazy day of work and life and we should create spaces that provide clarity and calmness and allow us to breathe out the stresses of the day.  The average person spends 70% of their time in the home, have you ever stopped to think about  how your home supports your wellbeing?

We have!  Stripping back and simplifying is how we begin that process.  By paring back, you open your mind to what could be: hope, optimism and confidence to begin the transformation.

The process:

This may seem daunting but it doesn’t need to be overwhelming, start small and focus on one area at a time.

Stripping back and simplifying:

Theres a lot of info out there that can help you with the know-how to decluttering but be mindful of looking at the How and Why the space became so cluttered in the first instance and this will prevent it happening in the future so you can create healthier living patterns.

Re-Design:

Once the area has been re-organised take a considered approach to its design and functionality. Create a space that you’ll be drawn to, think about the mood you want to create, look at how lighting effects the space, the tactility of materials and textiles, the feeling colour invokes and ensure that each item in your new space is important, has purpose and makes sense to the home.

We  are in love with the rug collection at Nodi.

The woolen rugs are woven with New Zealand blended wool. These fibers lend a warm materiality to interior spaces and are also favored for their robust, hard wearing nature.  Perfect for the lounge, bedroom, dining room, study, and entrance ways to your home.  The classic woolen texture is versatile and cosy and adds depth and character to any space.

Jute is a totally natural, plant based fibre, grown sustainably in Western Bengal. This golden fibre is incredibly soft underfoot, whilst being durable at the same time. It is double sided so this has double the life span and can be flipped over seasonally, perfect for wooden or concrete flooring.  Check out the range at www.nodirugs.com

LOFT ACCESS:

Why this use of space is convenient and functional

7 June 2018

Loft spaces are a smart way to access the storage space and utilities above your ceiling.

Attic ladders fold down when you need them and fold away when you're finished, providing safe, easy access without the inconvenience of a step ladder.

If you have a growing family or needing more space, why not transform your loft into another living space, bedroom, a study or a teenagers retreat.  Add in a few skylights for light and ventilation and you have created a purpose built space.  Go a step further and you could add in a stair case to add another level of living.

If your visual, here's a basic snippet of how to close in your loft along with some clever uses of space.
